Creative Inspiration: Print Is Not Dead

In this day and age where it seems everything is accessible via the internet and the need for printed magazines and newspapers are no longer needed, there are many out there who are strongly standing by the statement of “Print Is Not Dead.” And I’m one of those people. Call me a creative dork, but I love flipping through a magazine or other printed piece that has a strong aesthetic, is laid out well and just looks good. Throw in some really amazing paper and I’m hooked.

Recently, a fabulous publication debuted with this “Print Is Not Dead” mindset. It’s called “Anthology.” As found on their web site, Anthology is “a new quarterly shelter and lifestyle print magazine that takes a narrative approach to its coverage of home décor, travel, design, entertaining, and culture.”

And to show off their fun and creative spunk, they put together this fabulous video. Click here to view it. Hope you enjoy!

Creative Inspiration

I often find myself in a bit of a creative rut. I think many people think that Creatives are constantly creating something – that their minds never stop. Well, guess what? Not true! Sometimes my creativity just runs dry and I feel like I can’t think, focus or do anything creative. In those moments I find myself spending time visiting various blogs by other creatives (artists, interior designers, or even fabric designers). I’ve found that admiring the skills of others can give me that creative boost that I need. Here’s one that I frequent daily: designsponge. It’s loaded with interior design, graphic design, and even fashion design. With just one look of design sponge, I find myself wanting to increase my creativity and try new things.
