What do you do at Willow?
Before or after watching Hoda and Kathy Lee on the last hour of The Today Show?
How long have you worked at Willow?
I was here before Willow was Willow. I was here when Willow had no name. I was here when Willow was nothing more than a sparkle in my eye and a shutter of fear in Becky when I told her I was quitting my job and starting a business. That was just over 18 years ago now. She’s still overcome with fear once in a while. And there’s still a sparkle in my eye.
When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A garbageman. He got to drive such a cool truck. I wanted to be just like Elmer Cole. (Elmer was our garbageman.)
What is your favorite pizza topping?
Pepperoni and banana peppers.
What was your first pet’s name?
Heidi. She was a Boxer.
What was your favorite subject in school?
World History (thanks to Mrs. Merritt.)
What was your first job?
Selling tomatoes door to door from the family garden. (More to the story than that . . . but you have to ask.) First real job was mowing at the Elwood Court Motel.
What is your favorite movie of all time?
Raising Arizona. Follow closely by Bennie and Joon and Caddyshack.
If you were a super hero, what would your super power be?
X-ray vision of course. Duh!
What drew you into the marketing business?
Love to say the money, but that’s the farthest thing from the truth. My first full time job in 1986 after graduation was as a Creative Copywriter making a whopping $12,500 a year! From there, I fell in love with it.
Describe yourself in 5 words or less.
Fun, friendly, loyal, loving and (that doesn’t count as a word) curious.
If you could be one animal, what would it be and why?
A dog. Especially one living in our house.
Frozen custard or ice cream?
Frozen custard.
How do you eat an Oreo?
Dipping it in a big, tall, cold glass of milk until it’s soggy and ready to fall apart and then getting it into my mouth before it falls apart. Precise timing and years of practice make sure there’s few messes.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Colorado was on my short list for years, and still is. But the more I travel, the more I realize there are some wonderful places that I’ve never been. And I’m not sure I’ll ever be happy in one spot. So I hope that I’ll be in a position that I could travel all over and never really settle. Now, my sanity is Sweetwater Lake. I love relaxing at the Lodge.
Where do you like to sit in a movie theatre and why?
Growing up, in the mezzanine. Now, a little over ½ way up in the center. And I hate people who talk . . . and crunch their popcorn loudly during a movie. Please, finish your popcorn before the movie starts or chew quietly!
What’s in the trunk of your vehicle at this moment?
I don’t have a trunk.
What’s on your desk at work?
Stacks of papers to review, piles of business cards to call, a calculator, pictures of my little girl Jackie, my phone, and a few of my favorite pens – Black Uniball 207’s, Medium Point.
What’s your favorite part of working at Willow?
The people. Our clients, our great employees, the wonderful friends and vendors we’ve amassed over the years.
What’s your favorite Indy restaurant?
Mangia.

Elmer Cole…now that’s a memory. You are definitely correct about World History & Mrs. Merritt but Spanish w/ Mrs. Disosway was fun, too.
[...] while you admire these beautiful, easy to use websites, I am going to attempt (again) to convince Brad that I need an iPad for web testing [...]
[...] wind will blow the Willow, but you can be sure we are flexible. With less than a weeks’ notice Brad and I packed our bags (or in Brad’s case a backpack) and headed to Arlington, Texas. It is a city [...]
